Dana cagen, ba | Program manager, Chronic & infectious dieseases

Dana was born and raised in the Chicagoland area, in Northbrook, Illinois. After High School graduation, Dana spent a year traveling and learning about health care in Peru, Ecuador, and Morocco. It was during this year that Dana became passionate about public health and helping communities achieve the best healthcare possible. She enrolled in the Public Health program at the University of Victoria, Canada in 2018, and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 2022.

During her senior year of university, Dana had the incredible opportunity of being an internship student at the Asian Health Coalition. Dana helped make flyers and spread awareness for Hepatitis B and was able to learn about many of the health disparities communities were faced with. Eager to continue working in Public Health, Dana became a Contact Tracer for the University of Chicago in the Fall of 2022, where she learned more about infectious diseases and communicated with the public regarding safety measures. Dana has transitioned from a role as Program Coordinator with the All of Us Community Engagement team to Program Manager with the Chronic & Infectious Diseases team.

In her free time, Dana loves walking the lakefront, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new coffee shops around Chicago.
